Regular food nothing to wait home about. Expensive Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
To clarify, the maitre d' was the only staff member attending to our table. From the start, he was overly aggressive and intrusive, not giving us a moment to look at the menu before asking if we were ready to order. Once he realized we were using a Groupon, he began trying to upsell every item on the menu, almost as if he wanted to make up for the discount. I appreciate attentive service, but this felt more like harassment, making it difficult for us to enjoy our conversation. The ambiance was the one redeeming quality. The sunset was beautiful, the decor was tasteful, and the live piano performances added a nice touch. However, it didn't take long for our friend, the maitre d', to ruin the mood by insisting we sit in a way that made it impossible to enjoy the sunset without being blinded. To top it off, there was an incredibly tacky slideshow titled "Italian Things," featuring random pictures of cannoli and people kissing at fountains in Italy – just bizarre. And then, the maitre d' decided to join the piano player, completely overtaking his performance by butchering songs he clearly didn't know. It was awful. Once he figured out we weren't ordering anything expensive, he ignored us to focus on the next group of diners, which was frustrating. He couldn't seem to find a balance between being overly attentive and completely disengaged. As for the food, it was mediocre at best—bland and unremarkable. I had the steak and my girlfriend had chicken, and I’ve definitely had better meals elsewhere. To cap off our wonderful evening, when I finally asked for the check, he took about 10 minutes to return with it. When he did, he made a point to say, "Sorry it took so long, I had trouble finding it since it was such a small check," clearly hinting at the discount from the Groupon. Who says that to a customer? He then had the nerve to remind me, in front of my girlfriend and other diners, that they preferred cash. I couldn’t believe it! I ended up paying with my credit card, partly just to get back at him. It was an unpleasant experience, and I won't be returning. There are far better restaurants in Westchester where I can spend my time and money. Lesson learned: don't try restaurants at the airport.
This is the first time I've wished for a rating lower than one star. Please steer clear of this place! The service was not just bad; it felt like a scene from the Twilight Zone where neglect was taken to an extreme. I had to get up and hunt down staff multiple times: first to take my order, then to find my glass of water 15 minutes later, next to locate my food, and finally to ask for the bill. Really? At an airport? It seems like the restaurant has new ownership, as the menu is from Wing Lady, so I assume that company has taken over this location. Given the appalling neglect I experienced during my previous visit to the Purchase Country Diner, I suspect they now manage all the food services in the airport. For the sake of my fellow travelers looking for a meal, I genuinely hope they resolve their issues soon.
Excellent! This place is incredible. We discovered it through a radio show and were surprised to find such a beautiful dining area in an airport! We decided to visit the same weekend, and let me tell you… as soon as you arrive, they'll take care of your car. Head up to the second floor, and you'll find a wonderfully decorated space. It's both charmingly Roman and stylish, with fantastic views of the slopes. The food was not just delicious; it was a delightful experience, and the service was very welcoming. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning. Thanks to this broadcast for the tip!
