I had a fantastic experience at Whitehall! The menu offers a wide variety of delicious food and salads, and the staff is extremely friendly. I tried the wild boar on ciabatta bread and it was amazing, especially paired with the cucumber salad. I will definitely be returning!

While I was out shopping in the steppe today, the amazing owner of the "Dysfunctional Quilter" highly recommended the "Pepper Tree Sandwich Shop Deli". We had a fantastic lunch with excellent service and a really friendly atmosphere! Thank you so much. The Pepper Reuben sandwich was so delicious that I will definitely be coming back for more.

This charming slice of Americana is all the reason you need to exit the interstate and drive into cool little Whitehall for breakfast or lunch. Don't be surprised to see a table with the sheriff talking to some local farmers or ranchers and a steady stream of locals who use this place as a social and culinary hub. Its even housed in the same building as the Montana State University extension classes. The food is delicious and and amazing value- we loved our piled-high hot sandwiches and sides. The lovely family that runs this establishment are true professionals. They had GF bread and easily accommodated my celiac wife with care and efficiency that would put a Michelin five-star to shame. This is a great sandwich place! I had the Jefferson. Delicious ham and turkey and two cheeses. Fresh baked french bread. And a wonderful parmesan garlic sauce really made the sandwich. I had the Greek salad on the side. The tomatoes and cucumbers were so fresh and firm. No mushy vegetables here. Tasted wonderful. They have great ice cream too. At only $2.50 for a single scoop we could get dessert for everyone and not break the back. Generous scoops too and they even let you pick two flavors per scoop. This place was definitely worth the stop. Thank you Pepper Tree deli for taking your sandwich artistry seriously! There are not enough sandwich places out there that do this well. Will definitely come again. A bright spot in the town of Whitehall.

I absolutely love this sandwich place! There are so many sandwich options to choose from and they are all amazing. The bread is light and slightly soft, absolutely perfect. I had the chicken sandwich with chicken, cheese, paprika, and chipotle sauce - it was delicious! The salad with fresh tomatoes and dressing was a great accompaniment. The chipotle sauce had just the right amount of heat and the chicken was moist. My partner had the red shoe sandwich with grilled meat, Swiss sauce, parmesan cheese, and it was fantastic. The sandwiches come with sides and drinks. I ordered the Greek salad with zucchini, tomatoes, olives, and feta cheese in the dressing, and my partner had the fresh homemade coleslaw. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I wish they had ice cream so I could try it, maybe next time. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip.
