We came this past weekend with a large group (30 people). We called to make sure they could accommodate us and they were great! Friendly service, the beer was good, and for as large as our group was, it was quick! The food was outstanding!! We had wings, cheese curds, burgers, chicken sandwiches and the salmon BLT (to name a few things). Not a single complaint from any of us. Verypleased and if we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop by.
The Hummus Platter was outstanding—definitely the best I've ever encountered. It wasn't just a small bowl of hummus with a few pita slices around it; it was a massive plate of hummus accompanied by an even larger plate of assorted marinated veggies for dipping. Plus, they had Beyond Burgers on the menu, which was a pleasant surprise! The burgers came with lettuce, tomato, and avocado, but unfortunately no ketchup, mustard, or pickles. The fries were delicious as well. Our one vegetarian friend ordered the Margherita Flatbread, and it was quite large—definitely meant for sharing among two or more people. He claimed it was incredibly good, although it had cheese on it, so he ended up eating the whole thing himself, and he didn’t seem to mind! I ordered a salad with the best balsamic dressing I've ever tasted; it wasn’t sweet at all, which I really appreciated since I dislike sweet dressings. The salad was huge, and I finished every bite. One of us also ordered the Brussels sprouts, and she said they were delightful. The beers were great, too. Each glass featured their cool witch logo, and one person from our group even left with a t-shirt from the restaurant. The only downside was the tables, which have pipes positioned just at the right height to bang your knees against when you sit down. Our waitress was vegan, which made things easier since she understood our dietary needs right away. She was attentive and very pleasant. We ended up ordering so much food that our bill topped $100 for the three of us, but it was absolutely worth it!
The restaurant features fun decor and interesting artwork, creating a lively atmosphere. The food was fantastic; I had the Wisconsin Burger paired with the beer cheese soup, which I highly recommend. I also sampled my son's Mac and Cheese, and it was equally delicious. However, I can't fully assess the service since I was attending a Celebration of Life event, and it seemed that the staff was not prepared for such a large gathering. There was over an hour wait between our arrival, ordering, and receiving our food. With only two waitresses for our group, they struggled to keep the orders organized. Both ladies were very friendly and unique but appeared to be overwhelmed. The food arrived hot, but not all at once. Given a different situation, I believe my experience with the staff would have been better, but it’s hard to say for sure. Overall, I rate the food five stars.
We were hiking on the Ice Age Trail and chose to stop by this restaurant since it was listed on the Mammoth Hike Challenge Whitewater Trail Community Itinerary. We noticed that previous reviews mentioned vegan and vegetarian options, which was a pleasant surprise for us! We ordered a flight of four beers and really enjoyed three out of the four. The vegan burger was fantastic, and the mac and cheese was excellent too. However, we felt the prices didn’t align with the area or the quality of service. Is $16 really justified for a vegan burger?
