The chicken Iskender meal at the Kebab house is absolutely world class. I dont think even they know how well they are pulling it off. I've lived in 8 different countries and have been to Ankara and Istanbul, and had this dish hundreds of times. This definitely ranks top 5, and I hope the kebab house does more to market this dish and let people know about it. The chicken is actually shawerma style and is perfectly seasoned and charred, the tomato sauce is the perfect quantity to contrast with the yogurt, and they use authentic Turkish bread as the bed under the chicken. The only thing I would adjust is the yogurt placement; it is supposed to be between the bread and the chicken, and the tomato sauce on top of the chicken, creating 4 layers of flavor. I hope you stumble upon this post and give this meal a go, it is truly superb and done with care and traditional authenticity. The saddest part is that I'm only in town for the day, but I cant imagine having anything else on my next visit. Go there tonight and order the chicken Iskender!!

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and I'm so glad I did! The food is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. I’m giving this place a 5-star rating because Turkish cuisine is not only delicious but also healthy. I will definitely be visiting Istanbul Kabob again!

This restaurant is excellent! I've never experienced food quite like this before. It's similar to meat-focused dishes, but when you add their hot sauce or the house-made yogurt and mint sauce, it takes the flavors to a whole new level.
