Ray's Place Tavern - Willow

For dinner, I tried something new—a meat safflower, as I had never seen it on any other menu before. I also ordered a half southwest salad. My son opted for pulled pork and fries, my daughter chose chicken wings, and my wife went for a Cubano pita. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed watching some NCAA tournament games, and our meals arrived in a reasonable time given how packed the restaurant was. The southwest salad was delicious, and the meat safflower was excellent as well—full of flavor and the perfect texture, served on perfectly roasted bread. I would definitely order it again. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal, and it was quite affordable. If we find ourselves in the area again, we’ll surely return. By the way, the place was surprisingly not filled with college students, despite being right next to Kent State; it had a nice local crowd.

Delicious food, strong drinks, and friendly staff make this place a winner. It's a college bar, so timing is important. If you're planning to enjoy a night out, expect to arrive later. However, if your main focus is the food, it’s best to go a bit earlier in the evening to secure a spot.

Ray's is one of our top choices. The food and service are consistently excellent. They offer a wide variety of drinks and dishes.

It is quite loud during the busy times, but the waiting staff is amazing and the menu is diverse and good. I can honestly say I never had a bad meal there. Can recommend Cuban and Reuben as well as any Burger. Beautiful selection of beers on tap and bottle.
