Pescadero - Wilmette

Went here during a wedding in between hour, bar across the street was super packed with the rest of the wedding party so we wandered over here and I'm so glad we did. Justin and the rest of the staff at Pescadero made us feel right at home and they got us ready to head to the reception! Oysters, stone crab and drinks were all amazing. Highly recommend! 3 stars only for oysters delicious, because were not cooked by the chief: Octopus was over cooked, ceviche too spicy, ahi tuna ok, but nothing special, service could be better 2/10. Overall overpriced for quality of food and experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

Let me preface this, Google reviews should give us the opportunity to give half stars, because this was a 4.5-star experience. First of all, my wife made a reservation on their system, but strangely, couldn't find the confirmation, and it didn't get taken by their side. Not a big deal, we just weren't able to dine outside, so we sat at the bar. The bartender Michael was super friendly and knowledgeable. He made our evening a lot of fun. He made a pretty good Aviation, and I am glad they keep a Violet liquor in the bar. He helped us make our final wine decision and it ended up in a very nice Albariño. We ended up ordering the seafood tower and shrimp and scallop skewer. This is, unfortunately, where I would take off points. This does not reflect flavor, freshness, or presentation; it reflects the lack of meat in the crab and lobster. They were a bit on the skimpy size and were so small, they seemed overcooked a bit. The skewer, which there was only 1, the scallops were nice sized as were the shrimp. I still can't overlook how little meat there was in the crab and lobster. Besides the Crab and Lobster, everything else was great. I want to try some more of the menu, so we will definitely be coming back here in the future.

The atmosphere was great and the hostesses were all very kind. Our server was extremely awkward, though. We ordered a half dozen of oysters and one of them had barely anything in it and for $3 per oyster that was disappointing. The king pao salmon was outstanding and a great portion size. The fish tacos were also perfect and fresh tasting.

Stopped by here for a quick lunch before my flight and it was delicious. First off, they have wine on draft. Amazing. Ordered the crab cakes from the app section and it was delicious. Crab cakes were crispy and the perfect portion for my lunch. I wish I had more time to try other items from the menu as everything sounded and looked amazing. The restaurant was clean and open. Loved the atmosphere. Staff was super friendly. I would definitely come back.
