The Rivers Edge - Winchendon

Excellent atmosphere, food is good, but I observed two great mistakes and a minor; Beef was well prepared when asked for medium rarely, and the pommes were s bit soggy. The smaller mistake is the smoked taste in the meat I tried was remembering coal, and the addition of ketchup and BBQ was almost necessary for pleasure; Pork was a bit of coal tasting, beef was good, bacon was just too smoked and was unpleasant. If I'm ever back in town, I will definitely visit again as both the food and the atmosphere (service, presentation, live entertainment) was great.

Fantastic food! Everything is smoked in-house with a lot of unique flavors. Good variety of menu choices, nice family-friendly atmosphere, excellent staff! Some of the best food I have had in Massachusetts since moving here a year or so ago. PS- they do take credit/debit cards now

The steak and egg breakfast was the best I've ever had. The hash browns were excellent, and the bacon was thick and delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the steak was done to perfection. I will definitely be returning and recommending this place to others!

It's not often that a restaurant feels like home, but my breakfast this morning did just that! I was quickly served a large cup of strong, hot coffee. My River Omelet was packed with sausage, bacon, peppers, and onions. The hash browns were cooked to perfection, just the way I like them—well done. Even the rye toast was spot on. The service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely give this place 5 stars!

The server was fantastic, and the food was delicious! It arrived at just the right moment. One of the waitstaff even let us hold our little goldfish while we waited for our meal, which was such a thoughtful gesture! Overall, we will definitely return!
