Írjon visszajelzéstHaving worked in Maidenhead town centre for nearly four years, I have a solid understanding of the dining options available in the area as I usually go out for lunch daily. However, ever since I stumbled upon this restaurant a few months ago, I have been going 2-3 times a week. My co-worker and I have to consciously limit our visits to avoid overindulging. I have sampled a variety of dishes on the menu and regardless of what I order or when I visit, the food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions at affordable prices. Considering the quality of the food, this restaurant is an incredible deal.
I used to visit this restaurant regularly for lunch, but ever since the ownership changed, the quality has declined. I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit.
I visited this restaurant on 080718 while in Maidenhead on a whim. I ordered the Mixed Grill Full and Masala fish. The Masala Fish arrived after approximately 10 minutes, but it was not hot and was very salty. The Mixed Grill was served on a plate instead of the usual sizzling platter with caramelized onions. The meat was lukewarm and rubbery, more like it had been microwaved for 30 seconds. When I complained about the cold food, another mixed grill was promised, but it took another 15 minutes to arrive in stages. The lamb chops were rubbery and grisly, and the rest of the grill smelled and tasted bad, clearly indicating that the meat had been precooked and reheated. I was not asked if the food met my expectations, and I expressed my dissatisfaction when paying the bill. The staff offered no apologies and simply said "hopefully you will have a better experience next time." I will not be returning as a customer or recommending this restaurant.
It’s a takeaway joint with plenty of seating. Looks newsly furbished but lacks any ambience. You order at the counter and find a table. They serve you the food. No fanfare. Severe lack of sauces and condiments which are kept at a central place. You basically need to borrow from someone who is using it at their table and then handover to the next person needing them. Food is quite tasty. Chicken tikka rumali roti was filling and delicious. Meal deal was good value for money.
From the front it looks like an estate agents and for this reason I couldnt really take this place seriously as a place to come for a meal! However on a very cold January evening I was walking past and craving a curry so decided to pop in and give it a chance. First impression after walking in was disappointing as there was nobody to take my order so had to tap on the counter to get their attention and out popped the chef who took my order. They didn't have 2 or 3 of the items on the menu which was really annoying and I was already regretting walking in! After some perseverance I managed to get an order in and after a few short minutes the food was ready. The lamb curry was excellent and was made in a home cooked style and packed full of flavour and none of the thick, creamy sauce you would get in a normal Indian. And for a £5 meal deal its an absolute bargain! I cant speak about the rest of the menu but the lamb curry was delicious! I would recommend the owner of this place to simplify the menu so the food you do have on the menu is always in stock. The opening times are strange as I dont know whether its a lunch or dinner place. I feel this place has an identity crisis and it would be a shame for maidenhead to miss out on this food because of the poor running of the place.
