The River Restaurant - Woodstock

While we were passing through the area, we stumbled upon this restaurant. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great so we couldn't dine outside, but the deck looked inviting. The menu had some interesting options, like sliced dill pickles in dill dip (which we had never tried before) and fried pepperoni. The food was delicious and we would give it a perfect rating of 5 out of 5.

The waitress was friendly, but I felt the food was too expensive. The only available clean table was situated near a door that delivery personnel kept using during our entire meal. Because it was cold and windy outside, each time the door opened, our napkins would fly around and we would feel chilled. It would be appreciated if the restaurant staff could use the appropriate service entrance.

This restaurant is a nice place with good food and great service. However, it may not be for everyone as there are several TVs inside the dining area. Despite the hot summer weather, we chose to eat indoors to stay cool thanks to the AC, but unfortunately, we were surrounded by TVs. Although there was no audio, the images were still distracting to me. I would have preferred some soft background music or just no TVs at all. It seemed like nobody was watching the screens, but that could just be my personal preference.

Love the location and patio but had the worse nachos ever. They put dill pickles, chunks of white onion and a terrible sweet bbq sauce on them. When we said we really didn't like them the server talked to the kitchen and the response was food is too expensive and they wouldn't replace them without these ingredients that should never be on nachos. The strawberry daiquiri was also disgusting. I didn't bother mentioning it considering the response to the nachos. The server was very nice and the only reason I gave 2 stars

We were recommended to this restaurant, but the food was bland; the size of my wife’s grilled salmon was minuscule and the salad came in big chunks. Service was ridiculously slow. Very admittedly, when we got there, it was crowded, but after about 10 minutes, most of the tables opened up while we waited waited, waited and waited even longer for our food. Pretty expensive for what we got and definitely not not not not recommended!!!
