Colston Bakeries Cafe Deco - Worcester

I am extremely disappointed in my experience at Colston Bakery. I have been a frequent visitor and always enjoyed my time there, but my recent visit left me feeling let down. While on a long walk, I urgently needed to use the restroom. Not wanting to be rude, I purchased a drink first and then asked if I could use the facilities. Unfortunately, I was informed that the restroom was only available for dining customers. Despite having paid for a drink, I was refused access to the restroom. When I offered to sit in and enjoy my drink, I was told that I still couldn't use the restroom due to different pricing policies that were never communicated to me beforehand. I am disappointed in their lack of accommodation towards paying customers and as a result, I will not be returning anytime soon.

The bacon baps are delicious, but this week the bacon has been overly salty.

I went to the restaurant for a latte and a Cornish pastry. The latte was good, but unfortunately, the Cornish pastry was not edible. It had no taste at all; I doubt there were any spices, onions, garlic, or even salt and pepper in the filling. I could taste the pastry more than the filling. It was the blandest pastry I have ever tried, so I ended up leaving three-quarters of it on the plate. I didn't complain because I didn't want to cause a scene. The shortcrust pastry wasn't made properly, and overall, it was a terrible dish. I have knowledge about pastries since I am a chef and teach culinary students at a college. Kind regards, Chef.

Great little bakery. Reasonably priced and fresh produce. Plenty of seating available across three floors.
