Hunday Manor Country House - Workington

Unfortunately, during a recent private event, the meal did not meet the usual standards of Hunday Manor following the change in ownership. While the surroundings were quite pleasant, the meal itself was disappointing and detracted from the overall experience.

Charming historic building in a great location, with friendly staff and a pleasant, quiet reception area, bar, and restaurant. Breakfast was excellent, while dinner was reasonable for the price. However, the outdoor areas seemed a bit worn, particularly the empty or malfunctioning pond and fountain, which was disappointing. Additionally, our room keycard was faulty, so we were given a physical key instead, and the bathroom door didn’t lock. These issues slightly detracted from the overall experience, but we still had an enjoyable stay.

We stayed here for two nights, which became three, as we enjoyed our stay so much. This is a hotel with service extremely well executed. The décor was lovely, the staff were1st class, both smartly dressed and very attentive. The chef was also worthy of review as all food (both breakfast and evening meals) were brilliant, choosing quality ingredient's. The room was perfect and very clean. I honestly cant fault anything. We will definitely be returning.

We have been for a meal there twice in a 2 weeks the service is amazing nothing to much trouble the food is outstanding. Made welcome and great price 2 would recommend to anyone.

The venue is absolutely beautiful, situated on a hill with stunning views of the lakes in the Lake District. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It's an excellent choice for weddings or milestone birthday celebrations.
