When eating arrived, it was extremely oily and pretty gland. despair the worst experience I had with food in china and that does not include eating a day because I couldn't find anything vegan. obviously other people had better time in this restaurant, so maybe that was one, but doesn't seem to give me.
That was our worst culinary experience in china and we are vegans! as my man and I both tee lovers we ordered jasmine tea from the menu while waiting for the order. 50 rmb for a pot tee in the opposite is a lot of money, but as they promised high quality tee we don't have to pay it. to our surprise, the “pee” was tasteless and looked like ordinary hot water. when we opened a teepot, we only saw 2 tiny leaves floating on the surface. yes they have it right – 2 small tea leaves for 50 rmb! After we had complained, they took teekanne away and brought a new teekanne into the inner with sufficient amount of tee leaves. they also apologized for inconvenience. we regularly travel to China for tea shopping, so it wasn't like we didn't understand the Chinese tee culture or it was a special tee where 2 tiny leaves would work. obviously saw the staff western faces and decided to play the rip off game. but rip off game didn't stop there. when we arrived, we were only for a moment speechless the touching fry veggie nudels we had ordered were not only shop purchased (never home made! they were immediately noodles! nudels still remained together, just as quickly removed from the package and microshafted in water. the rest of the dishes was cold and bland. overall it was the most expensive and disappointing experience we had in China so far.
We were ecstatic to find pure veg food in China, and quite delicious food at that. We ate here 3 times during our 2 day stay. The staff were friendly and spoke some English. Menus were in English with pictures. We especially loved the Eggplant and Tofu in Hunan sauce and the Wheat Gluten and Veg balls. It was great to have some fake meat. The food we had was mostly fried and a bit oily, so I wouldn't call it health food, but I would certainly call it delicious. Very much recommended!
I was so glad to discover on my last trip to yangshuo that lotus vegetarian restaurant has reopened at a new place. the restaurant is located directly on the corner of the west street (beside the lava azza coffee stand). eating was good inexpensive, well flavored and not too oily, which can be a real problem when eating in china. especially delicious the wok fried brokkoli, the green beans and the gong at vegetables. Positive great new location with outdoor, under and top floor seating, fresh, high-quality eating, reasonable trips and many vegan options. negatiw, it can be hard to see how it has a west street address, but it's just around the corner from the west street right. updated by previous review on 2017 04 11
Being vegetarian can be unpleasant in china, as meat is often contained in small amounts with most directed. we were thrilled to find pure lotus, which is completely vegetarian and it made it a joy to eat out. the choice is wide and interesting. we had a delicious meal and returned on the following day with some meat eating travelers, one of whom reported that it was eating his beat food in china. the environment is very beautiful and spacious, with many rooms, some remote as well as a veranda at the river. the staff was helpful and friendly. it was said that it is expensive, but we had a beer each and several courses for the equivalent of £6 a head that is cheap compared to many places.
