Empire City Casino - Yonkers

Best early when it is empty. I am not a casino lover but this was fine for a short day outing. Great staff and those behind the scenes are doing great at running this empire (if you'll pardon the pun). No haute cuisine here so find a local restaurant for dinner because this is a food court level deep fried snack at best.

Had a great time didn't win this time around but it was a fun experience.

The casino floor carpet also leaves much to be desired—perhaps it's time for a renovation. On a positive note, I've noticed improvements in the slot machines. However, I wish they would offer more options for people who want to bet 80 or 100 cents instead of the minimums of 120, 150, or even 300. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy playing, not just the high rollers. I did have the chance to eat at one of the restaurants, and I have to say, they served the best sweet potato fries I've ever tasted. A friendly Latino employee assisted me with a smile and prepared my fries with great care, which truly made my experience more enjoyable.

I enjoyed a generous portion of food with a variety of options. The casino was comfortable, although the air conditioning was quite chilly. Everything, including the machines, floors, and restrooms, was impeccably clean. The staff were all helpful and friendly. I found Security Officer Denise (#235) to be particularly informative as I entered the casino; she explained how to operate the machines and set up a new card. She truly deserves recognition for her assistance. I'm planning to return next month with a group of seniors.
