Costa Coffee Shop - York

This place is the reason I now have a hatred for coffee I visited here once and most likely never again I had waited in a long queue when finally managing to see the person behind the counter I was shouting at by a group of angry teenagers who I had annoyed after cutting in line and they were angry and I meant angry I politely told the leader of the group and he was cross I was like who are you and he looked me dead in the eyes and said you are an hole and I was thinking you rude little boy you should go on the naughty step he was upset because he couldn’t get his cappuchinoh or whatever it 's called anyway I didn 't even order a coffee I just walked out and shouted hay who 's bike is this it wasn’t there witch was embarrassing if you like coffee and a annoying teen less world don 't come here

Terrible. We could not bring ourselves to order a drink due to the strong smell of urine from across the other side of the shop. Premium prices for an extremely dirty and unhygienic branch, I expected more from Costa, especially at a York branch.

I have never been in a Costa as dirty as this one. The table was sticky and the toilets were disgusting, making it impossible to wash your hands properly as the tap was falling off. This level of cleanliness is unacceptable nowadays, especially in a restaurant. Even the staff's clothing looked unkempt. I would not recommend this Costa location, which I have dubbed "Costa la Covid."

Got a caramel iced coffee and a skinny chai today with my mum. However I did not ask for sugar free caramel, and could tell that the girl who made it put sugar free you can taste the difference quite easily. I don 't have the confidence to go up and tell them as I 'm very shy so I sent my mum (who did taste it and could also tell) and the Barista got very defensive. Would have been a better experience if it was just made properly instead of just reaching to the sugar free as a shortcut cause its closer to you because hey they can 't tell guess again anyone can tell.

The restroom at this restaurant is the dirtiest I have ever seen at a Costa. The rest of the restaurant wasn't much better. Despite not being very crowded, the staff was unfriendly. I would not recommend this place.
