Filmore Union - York

Had a coffee and a snack here whilst waiting on our train. Everything is fine and staff very friendly.

This wa sa great little cafe which we used twice during our stay in York we traveled by train! Great selection of gluten free food and the coffee was really nice as were the staff. The seats are a great idea, but on a platform, probably best reserved for summer months!!

The food at this small restaurant was good, but the service from the staff was extremely slow. Despite there being only two employees, they were very slow. The chicken Tagine in a small disposable cup was £5.90 and the bread was stale and inedible. We did not complain about the bread as it was only 50p. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I work nearby and have been buying lunch here for a few years. Sad to say, the quality of the baked goods has really gone downhill since the did they went into administration and were bought out. Smacks of attempts to increase their margins by changing the recipes: now their muffins taste mostly of egg and sugar, rather than the actual promised flavour. Such a shame.

My twin brother Stephen and I arrived at York Train Station to catch our train back to Liverpool after having enjoyed a great five days in this most beautiful of city's and with an hour to kill we dropped into Filmore Union for a coffee and what a great find. Located on platform 8,a neat and tidy serving area with lots of table seating out onto the platform. We ordered a flat white coffee each,after a short wait our coffees were prepared and served steaming hot, coffee was really good in here ,from the first sip you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve, it was just so good watching the trains arriving and departing while sipping our coffee's. We really enjoyed our coffee's in here before we moved on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with Filmore Union. Filmore Union is easy to locate along Platform 8 in York Railway Station. Well worth checking out if your in the station.
