The Walnut Tree - York

I had dinner reserved at The Walnut Tree last week. Even though it was a Saturday, the restaurant wasn’t too crowded, which was great for the service, and the music was at a pleasant volume. The food arrived quickly, was served hot, and looked nice. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely have no problem returning!

Had only tee at the walnut tree, looks absolutely fantastic now it is reopened, place was sumsing but service was pretty fast superior to how busy they were. would have fallen the lamb and the meat of the bone .delicious, only disappointment was that there were so many great dishes to choose from the decision was difficult! ... at least I have an apology to make my visits more regular. well made every place looks great

This is a lovely and welcoming pub. I stopped by for a break during my trip and ordered a Heineken 0%. The initial run was empty, but the staff promptly replaced it, and the waiter even brought the new beer to my table. It's definitely a great place to unwind before hitting the road again.

This would have been a 5-star experience, but our table was located next to the garden exit. The door kept swinging open, with guests leaving it ajar and even asking us to open it for them as they carried their drinks. Given that it was a chilly night, this was quite inconvenient and a bit ironic! We did request to move, but the pub was full, so we had to wait for others to vacate their tables. That said, the food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the staff were wonderful. However, I believe Table 16 should be avoided unless it's absolutely necessary. Since we made our reservation well in advance, we shouldn't have been seated there in the first place. Despite this, we plan to return in the future, just with a different table!

Great place, they look after their beer and the food was good value for money! You can take dogs in as long as the owner is well behaved! Thank you Andrea for the great service.
