Holy Hound Taproom - York

I love a place that is dog friendly, so I'll start with that. If you are a craft beer drinker, this place has the best variety of beer (from many different breweries) in town. Also, the prices for beer run slightly cheaper than other places, which is always a great thing. They also have really awesome food specials that run all day and are great value. The seating outside is right in the city, which has its pros and cons, but they've done their best to make it a nice space. The inside has a great atmosphere. The people are always very nice. This is a great local go-to spot! I'd recommend it!

All around one of The best bars I’ve ever been too!!

I was craving crab last night after a trip to Google I found the holy hound...I ordered the crab pretzel and crab balls The crab pretzel had old bay sprinkled on it and included a small (too small) container of dip. The dip tasted good but was not enough for the entire pretzel. I ran out of dip about 2/3 of the way through. I did not eat the remainder of the pretzel. THE CRAB BALLS WERE ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! THEY WERE TOO SALTY. I TRIED TO BREAK ONE UP AND PUT IT ON SOME BREAD AND MAYONNAISE TO BALANCE OUT THE SALT AND IT DID NOT HELP! THEY WERE INEDIBLE. I HAVE NEVER WANTED MY $18 BACK SO BAD!

Bring back Thursday Steak night! Besides that great place.

Nice big draft selection. All of the burgers I've tried are pretty good, but not very filling. The Gouda burger is amazing. I didn't like the Bison burger w/Bleu cheese though, I love Bleu cheese but it was extra bitter. The house made chips are really bland and burnt tasting, would be better cut into fries. The sandwiches would seem more filling if the chips were edible. Gumbo didn't impress me, it was served a minute after the order was put in, but was lukewarm. I couldn't find sausage in it but could taste it. Not sure where it was, I was expecting slices of it. Gumbo did not have rice, served with crackers... and the bowl was a very small crock. I've worked in kitchens enough to know that those crocks hold the same amount as a cup, they're just shorter and wider. Was expecting an actual bowl, since they serve ramen. Would cost pennies to add a scoop of rice and put in a bigger bowl. Service is very average. The outdoor seating is nice. All in all, it's worth stopping in for a quick drink.
