Undeterred, we went ahead and ordered our rolls. When they arrived, they looked appealing, but the excessive use of mayo-based sauces made us suspect they were trying to cover something up. Unfortunately, the amount of mayo was nearly overwhelming. Neither of us had ever found a sushi roll difficult to finish, but we pushed through. Overall, the experience was underwhelming. I would give it 3 stars because, at the end of the day, we're in the desert, and the prices were reasonable. The drink menu was also competitively priced, which is a plus since you'll need plenty of drinks to get through these rolls.
Was craving sushi and decided to try the spot and man am I happy that I went! We tried a variety of rules they were all delicious services was super fast! I was happy to pair it with Sapporo beer! My daughter loved the chicken bowl! Definitely agreat sushi spot!
I absolutely love everything about this place, from the food to the happy hour and the friendly servers. However, the chefs need to be more attentive to the orders. When I request no sesame seeds or masago, I expect those ingredients to be completely omitted. Additionally, the baked portion of the baked lobster roll was missing this time. I used to be a regular when I lived nearby and was really hoping for a better experience during my recent visit, as it has always been one of my favorite spots.
They do offer a fantastic happy hour every day from 12 to 4 with a 2-for-1 deal on sushi rolls, which includes all items on the menu rather than a limited selection. While the service was decent, the staff could use additional training; our server didn't know what sake was or how to pronounce it correctly. As for the sushi itself, the quality was average at best. The rice was overcooked and gummy, and the shrimp seemed old. There was an overwhelming amount of sauce on the rolls, making it difficult to appreciate the actual flavors of the sushi. We've decided to continue our search for good sushi in Yuma at other restaurants. However, if you're looking for quantity over quality, this place might be for you.
However, as soon as we arrived, we noticed some warning signs for anyone seeking an authentic sushi experience (though to be fair, this place doesn’t claim to be that). Nevertheless, we decided to go ahead and ordered our rolls. When the food arrived, it looked visually appealing, but the excessive use of mayo-based sauces felt like they were masking something. To our dismay, the amount of mayo they piled on was almost overwhelming. In all our sushi-eating experiences, we had never struggled to finish a roll like this before, but we persevered. Ultimately, the dining experience was below average. I’m giving it 3 stars because, considering we were in the desert, the prices were reasonable. The drink menu also seemed fairly priced, which is a good thing since you’ll need plenty of beverages to help get through the rolls at this place.
