We had a quick lunch here that appeared popular with locals. There was a small selection of food mainly salad, sandwiches and slices of quiche with some sweet baked goods. The quiche was a little dry but would've been tasty I think it'd been in the heater too long. Coffee was very strong and good. Prices in Zurich are more expensive than the rest of Switzerland. 4.5 Swiss francs for an espresso.
This small café located at Central station and next to the Pölybahn has a couple of sidewalk tables with a view over the central station. Inside there are wooden tables and chairs and tall tables. On the menu is a light breakfast, pastries, sweets, cookies, chocolates, sandwiches, breads, hot/cold beverages, juices, wine and beer. They do not have beer on tap just small bottled beers (5.30CHF).There are newspapers and magazines available for guests and a TV on the rear wall. The location is a good and central spot for a quick snack or treats.
Hotel-breakfast in Zurich is just too expensive. Hearty sandwiches, plain bakery items, pastries and great coffee. Pleasant seating area.
The deadline I make every morning when I am in Zurich is to have my cappuccino and crossan from Cafe Schurter, the place is too beautiful and the staff is very friendly. I think this place is mine. Thank you for your hospitality, food quality and welcome. I miss your coffee and café Walid Raghei
