Nina's Taqueria - Augusta

A hidden gem in Augusta! It seems to be a family-run establishment with a small, cohesive team. The parking lot is quite small and was bustling with activity. I waited a little before being greeted, but was soon offered a table. While the service was a bit limited, the food was authentic and absolutely delicious. The prices were very reasonable. The ambiance was festive and inviting.

There were only a couple of staff members working, but they did an excellent job! I was thrilled to have cactus again—delicious! Wonderful food at great prices!

Absolutely yes! You MUST try the super burrito especial (wet; half and half) with Al pastor. The meat is incredibly flavorful, and the portion size? Simply amazing! There's convenient parking right in front, and the service is super fast and hassle-free. The atmosphere is casual, making it perfect for a quick work lunch or a to-go dinner. Don't forget to sample the horchata and the tortilla chips—they're absolutely delicious!

Nina's is a great little local spot for authentic Mexican. It offers an extensive menu of made-from-scratch foods with options not found in American versions of Mexican restaurants, such as cactus fillings instead of meat. I am grateful that the menu items are numbered because there is a lot here that I can't pronounce! Service is fine, prices are typical, the decor shows a lot of effort even though the building is shabby. But you don't go here for any of those things. You go here simply for the MENU.

I used to come here to spend $16-$18 on lunch for myself. I would get two shrimp tacos and a flour quesadilla. The shrimp tacos were the best I've had in Michigan. On Tuesday I had the shrimp tacos like I usually do. Something was wrong with the shrimp. Kinda shocked that they came out that way. I won't be going back, and think there are much better places. I was driving 30 mins too, but my last experience was too painful. Sad.
