Service was nice. Cool dining area. Food was not that good for price you paid.

Amazing food in an amazing environment, attentive, professional and friendly service. Norwegian prices are steep everywhere, but it's worth a few Kroner extra to eat here.

The restaurant is beautiful, which is a shame because the Service and food were terrible. The sommelier was the worst of all… when we asked how a wine would go with certain foods his response was “I do wine, not food, plus I haven’t tried the food”. Can’t recommend good wine if you can’t recommend food with it!

IT'S NOT WHAT IT APPEARS TO BE. Magnificent, colorful decoration and detailed paintings of farming, fishing, factory work and high arched ceilings. We where met by a stressed butler who waltzes around without control. All 4 of us took a drink and that tasted delicious. The female waitress does not welcome us once when she finally comes to the table. We order 2 pan roasted turbot, a mussel and an entrecote, 1 glass of red wine and a bottle of white wine, the white wine comes warm and after the food has been consumed

Eating in Frescohallen is an excellent experience. I have stayed in the attached hotel (Bergen Børs) several times, and this restaurant is a great new addition. The food is excellent quality, delicious, and always served with a smile. They were able to give superb advice about wine pairings and make recommendations based on wines I already knew. The prices are perhaps a bit high for what they are, and I think the restaurant may find itself busier and more successful if they included some more affordable options on the menu. This also happens to be where you would eat breakfast if staying in the hotel an impressively broad selection of fresh, tasty produce available in a buffet, with excellent hot drinks and something for everyone.
