Fernwood - Birchwood

This is the bar where I spent my formative years. They have a fantastic selection of beers and a great range of classic arcade games. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is welcoming, even to pets—it's a dog-friendly place! The staff is incredibly friendly and the patrons always create a lively environment. I can't wait to visit again soon!

On Saturday and Sunday, live music on the deck attracted a lively crowd, so we chose to order our food to go and enjoyed it on our deck with a beautiful view of the lake. The live music started a bit early in the afternoon, but it wasn’t disruptive at all, contributing to the relaxing atmosphere filled with families enjoying this little gem in the Wisconsin woods. The heated pool offers a lovely view of Birch Lake, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Our only minor disappointment was the lack of a space for a campfire, but it wasn't a significant issue. It would also be nice if some of the low-hanging trees between the cabin and the lake could be trimmed for a better view. We want to extend our gratitude to Bev, Pete, Nikki, and the entire staff for their hard work and hospitality. We'll definitely be back! P.S. We rented a pontoon from Ri Shells Resort across the lake, which was a fantastic addition to our trip!

Great spot! It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. We really enjoyed the vintage bowling machine jukebox. The bartenders were incredibly friendly.

Love the atmosphere. I had great service and they have an amazing dog I immediately fell in love.
