Mary Brown's Fried Chicken

I prefer this restaurant over KFC and just as much as Churches. The batter is light and delicious, the fries are hand-cut and the chicken is plentiful and hot.

Mary Browns is normally great but today I stopped at the Port Aux Bas location before boarding the late ferry. There were two teens running the place, both very nice and respectful. However the good was nearly inedible. It took only 3 minutes to have everything ordered so they must have just had the chicken prepared before, it was very cold and the chicken popins and taters seemed like they were sitting in the bottom of the fryer for far to long.

Nice people good food.The chicken was perfect and traveled well to the Hotel. When opened it was still warm and tasty.

The best fried chicken I've ever had it was introduced to me last year when I was out here in Newfoundland delivering and the guy ask me if I wanted something to eat and I said certainly and he brought Mary Brown's Chicken the best chicken I've ever had nice dick white meat great french fries a great sauce to go with it it was fantastic everytime I come out here to Newfoundland I always make a stop to buy that chicken it is fantastic enjoy

Not sure why, but it seems that ant Mary Browns on the Granite Planet is always much better than the chain restaurants on the main land. The smell gets you as soon as open the door. The service is good and the food is good. The prices are fair but on the high side of fair. This is not my first choice but miles ahead of the other Fried Chicken place.
