J"s Soul Food - City of Orange

I was really disappointed with the food. The yams had no flavor at all; they seemed like they were just boiled and placed in a container. The cabbage had a strange taste that reminded me of mac and cheese, but I couldn't quite figure it out. The chicken wings had no flavor either—I tried four of them, smothered in hot sauce, but that didn’t help much, especially since I was starving. I’m sorry to say that the corn muffin was gummy and undercooked. I run and cook for a soul food kitchen, and this experience was far from what I expected. I really don’t understand how this place stays in business with food like that. I ended up spending $20 on what felt like garbage.

I ordered salmon patties to take away, but I found them inedible. They were covered in an overwhelming amount of crust or coating, which made it difficult to taste the actual salmon. It might have been good if I could have gotten past all that crust. As for parking, they did have designated spots for customers, but they were obstructed by railings.

I dined at J's for the first time and had an excellent experience! We were seated promptly, and our orders were taken quickly. The food arrived swiftly and was absolutely delicious. The coffee was great as well! Wonderful job overall; I will definitely be back. Food rating: 4/5.

They charged me for food they I never received through UberEats. If a customer cancels an order a minute after it was ordered it obviously was not prepared that fast and that customer should not be charged. If so then the order should be delivered. Charging somebody $57 for food and not delivering the food is a scam. BEWAREService: 1/5

Excellent service. Welcome space and sitting area! I had breakfast platter with fish grits! So good and made fresh!
