Lake House Daylesford

We had the most wonderful lunch at the Lakehouse.. from the moment we arrived till when we left (4 hours later) everything was perfect! The ambiance, the service and food would have to be up in my top 5 best all time dining experiences.. I’ve already booked to go back in November…

Was a wonderful romantic lunch in a beautiful setting. The food was superb and beautifully presented with enough variety with each course to suit most people. The wine menu was extensive with great advice from the sommelier. My only complaint was the cocktails were horrible. My husband ordered a negroni and it was a premixed bottle and I had a mojito, which was just bottled lime juice, rum and a small top up of soda water, it was sour and revolting. Where was the fresh lime and mint?

Very special lunch for three girlfriends who finally managed to get away for a night to Daylesford. I had dined at Lake House before for a dinner but was so glad we had the means to be able to dine here for lunch. The staff were lovely from the second we opened the door and they even chatted to us as we walked out to the carpark! Beautiful food, lovely cocktail choices and perfectly timed food and meal sizes. Courses 1,2 &4 were outstanding. The Barramundi (wild)was also particularly enjoyed by my friend, who also really liked the pear tart tartine. We also really enjoyed the pumpkin canoli which for me was a highlight. The service and ambience were excellent. It was an absolute delight to savour such delicious food in a non pretentious atmosphere. The whole experience made my birthday special.
