The Royal - Eden

During our camping trip in Keswick this month, we were unexpectedly met with flooding. In need of a place to park our motorhome for the night, I turned to the Britstops website and was delighted to come across The Royal. The atmosphere was fantastic, the beer was good, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal and a delicious full breakfast the following morning. They even accommodate for individuals with coeliac and gluten-free dietary restrictions, even during breakfast. Although I have passed through Dockray before, I will make sure to stop by The Royal next time I am in the area. To the staff at The Royal, keep up the great work - we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to visiting again soon.

Had lovely meal , the staff were very attentive , had enjoyable meal, was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night . Was dog friendly

Very poor service, only one person taking orders and tending the bar, we asked the girl clearing tables and delivering food if she could take our order, got completely blanked. We stay in the Lakes in our caravan just down the road where we stay and have a last evening meal here. On those occasions we always had good service and food, this time food was still good but service was chronic.

Had lunch in the garden fish and chips and chicken and haggis pie, both meals were lovely and fair price also, would have no hesitation in returning

Lovely place to stay. We were in the area to climb Helvellyn and wanted to stay relatively locally. The Royal was well priced with a large room and a comfy bed and bath. The food was very good, we had both dinner and breakfast, both were excellent. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Only down side was that some parts of the room could do with a little renovating and there is no phone signal at all.
