Bagel Co On Last Chance - Helena

The bagels here are incredibly delicious! However, I would love to see a wider variety since my favorites—salt and poppy—are only available by special order. It would also be great if the selection didn't run out so quickly.

I feel guilty for not having rated this place sooner. I've lived in areas without a good bagel shop, and I genuinely craved a bagel from Bagel Co. The food is a perfect 10/10, but that's not the only reason to make a special trip here. The employees are amazing—kind and considerate. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly. If you base your spending on how well a business treats people, this place deserves a perfect score of 1,000/1,000. The jalapeño-cheddar and everything bagels are out of this world, but it's the employees’ kindness that truly makes an impact. It’s an absolute must-stop, even if you're just passing through town.

They managed to send out three more orders while the mother approached to ask about their food. The boys, although quite well-behaved under the circumstances, were understandably getting impatient. Finally, when orders 61, 62, 63, and 64 were called out, the young man with eyeliner abruptly yelled out order 58 with an attitude, exclaiming, "WELL I HOPE YOU COME BACK!" and threw a crumpled receipt in frustration. This behavior was very unprofessional. Meanwhile, the young woman at the register jumped in to help get the orders sorted, but this left a growing line of customers waiting at the door for about 15 minutes without any acknowledgment. I believe the main issue was with the young man wearing eyeliner, who seemed unsure of what he was doing and spent far too long just reading the tickets, disrupting the workflow entirely. Another employee took a break to make herself a sandwich, which further overwhelmed the remaining staff. I expected that 20 minutes would be ample time to grab a coffee, but clearly, it wasn't. There needs to be better staff training and an efficient assembly line system implemented. The team was frequently bumping into each other and reaching over one another, resulting in a slow, inefficient, and unprofessional experience.

Cold brew coffee was really good, chicken pesto basil sandwich tasted decent but the bagel was soggy, kinda defeats the purpose of eating a ?chewy?bagel IMO. Just don?t eat outside, can?t verify what?s in the photo but looks like it?s been there a minute,we were sitting on the bench next to it, I hope my daughter didn?t touch the wall as she got up on the bench. I didn?t notice ituntil after we had finished eating. It?s not necessarily their fault, but it looks like it?s been there awhile and I don?tblame them for not wanting to clean it up. Maybe at least move the table away from that area if your gonna wait until the rainwashes it away. Sometimes I see hope on the horizon for the ?civilized? human race then I experience something like this.

The food is fine, but the service is consistently terrible. Every time I go, ordering feels like you have personally insulted the staff with your presence, and this morning you were lucky if they remembered to make your order. My ticket got thrown outwithout being made so I had to remind them what it was, and shout-out to the dude who left with nothing when it was clear theyhadn't even started making his order. Company culture is clearly toxic because I have seen many different faces behind thecounter and have gotten very consistent unprofessional service every time. Two stars because, like I said, the bagels aredecent.
