Írjon visszajelzéstMalobo is usually a very cool and low key place to have brunch but I feel that for a while now standards have dropped. Staff are rude and have little to no customer service. Drinks came out staggered but coffee was nice, but still a little foamy. I ordered the mushroom bruschetta hoping to have creamy thyme mushrooms with rocket and a drizzle of balsamic. Unfortunately whoever made the dish thought to soak everything in balsamic, which was all I could taste. Ate only half before I felt sick and left the plate alone. After the entire table was finished we sat there chatting for a solid 20 minutes and no staff member came over to clear our table and ask how the meal went. Won't be returning any time soon.
I had coffee here which was very good. The staff are friendly and they have lovely eating areas both inside and out. I didn't eat but the food coming out looked really good and judging by the crowd it tasted good.
Came here today with my wife and mother in law for afternoon coffee so really can't comment on the meals they serve here. But the coffee was fine and the cakes (which they cook themselves) were outstanding. They have a number system (take a number and we'll bring it out to you) which seemed to result in quite a bit of faffing about and looking lost as people tried to work out where to take things. Everything arrived eventually although it took three people to bring out coffee and cake for three people. But as a place to sit in the late afternoon and watch the beach and drink excellent coffee and eat very good apple strudel, it's a complete winner
There are some great things about Malobo but service is not one of them. Having never been there before, I had no idea what the system was for seating and ordering; or what I wanted as I had no idea what was on the menu. I absolutely agree with what Poppie wrote about his customer 'service' experience. A welcome would have been appreciated as would the offer of a menu rather than asking me 'what do you want?' I almost didn't stay but it is a great setting so decided to give it a try. I would have rated this place a lot lower if the food wasn't reasonable. The chia pudding was not the greatest. It was a little of the gritty side but edible and the iced latte was acceptable. At no stage was I asked if I wanted anything else and it is problematic when eating alone - going back to the counter means you can lose your table; and the cafe was busy - I can only assume because of the location. Summary: coffee average; food average; customer service non-existent. Easy parking around the place in nearby streets and a wonderful location in the heart of Henley and right near the beach. Worth a try? Maybe - I won't go back any time soon. adelaidewriter.com.au
