Charlie's Chicken - Joplin

First visitor. the man on the front theke was so sweet and friendly. he took mine and didn't hurry. he was very listening and conversing. many thanks for the great visit.

Well as usual the chicken was good always is. But in the dining room there was no condiments for anything no butter for my rolls know salt and pepper nothing it's always such a young untrained staff there. Some of the side dishes can be questionable about the freshness which you can actually see with your eyes when you go there but like I said the chickens always good so I would suggest going but just don't get the gravy or too much of it it made my friend ill.

Food is good, but the service is, unsurprisingly, wholly dependant on who is working. The person working the drive thru tonight missed parts of our order, and was unapologetic about his mistakes.

Ordered here on 3 occasions and on all 3 occasions, the food was consistently mediocre. If you have never been to a Charlie's Chicken, it is a cafeteria style restaurant. You go to the counter to order and the server spoons out your sides from a container. If you get a chance watch when they grab a scoop of the green beans. I went with a #2 combo, which is a 3 piece with 2 sides. For my sides I got the mashed potatoes with gravy, and coleslaw. For my chicken, I was able to select 3 Thighs! This is why I love high school servers, they take care of you! Oh, I forgot to mention a sweet bread roll was also included. There wasn't one item in this combo that stood out. Everything was pretty bland. The coleslaw was crisp and did taste fresh, but the sauce was barely present. From what I could tell it wasn't a sweet sauce. The mashed potatoes were the same, consistency was fine, and gravy tasted like simple gravy mix, nothing exceptional. As for the roll, it was not edible as it was pretty firm. I took a small piece and did not touch the rest of the roll. The 3 thighs were crispy, and greasy. The seasoning on the breading was plain, nothing stood out. I like the facility, it seems fairly clean, but everything is just so-so. Hope you have a great experience and enjoy the pictures!

Upon visiting this afternoon, the young lady behind the counter knock plates onto the floor. I handed then back to her, she put them back on the food bar to be used until I made a comment about it. Also on the negitive, the rolls were rock hard and they never brought more as they said they would. Doesn't look like any adult leadership which is very much needed. Oh the possitive, the chicken chunks were great tasting and pretty fresh. The rice an broccoli casserole was terrific. The last time I was here, the drive through shorted us and forgot sauce, napkins and forks which she insisted were in the bag. All in all, there are better places to eat in joplin. Potentially, this place could be great but is lacking leadership and they need a major lesson in keeping the kit hen cleaner and attention to detail on customer service needs an over haul. I might try again sometime but more than likely just wash my hands of this place.
