However, if you want to enjoy delicious local food in a great atmosphere with wonderful hospitality, this place is perfect! It's a local Hawaiian restaurant with home-cooked meals that will remind you of your auntie's kitchen, although they could use a little improvement on their cakes.
The atmosphere was just as uninspiring as the food. The dining area consisted of flimsy foldable chairs and tables draped with sticky red-checkered picnic tablecloths, all situated next to a bowling alley in a basement. The exposed pipes and bare plastered walls didn’t help the ambiance either. When we finally placed our orders, almost every item we requested was met with a response about being out of certain ingredients. The server kept saying, "We can still make it without that." When the fruit salad finally arrived, it was even more disappointing. The server had earlier mentioned they were out of papaya and another fruit, but what we got had a mix of pineapple, melon, and cantaloupe—three out of the seven fruits listed on the menu right in front of me! I know this might seem minor, but it's indicative of a bigger problem—any decent restaurant should have its ingredients in stock. It’s unprofessional to have such inconsistencies. If you're looking for a good meal, I suggest you go elsewhere. You can find better options anywhere.
