Cookie's Creole N’ Soul - Kalamazoo

Made to order so expect it to be hot. The service was excellent and the restaurant also offers catering. I had the pleasure of her seafood plate for NYE for a celebrated event and then her chicken wings when I was in Kalamazoo. Sooo good.

If you are thinking about stopping by Cookie's you should. My soul is fed well and happy. The fried chicken breast was lite and crispy. The dirty rice was fantastic. The service was very pleasant and friendly. If you want good down home cooking away from home go to Cookie's.

Visited this restaurant for the first time but had heard about it from others who love soul (or southern) food. We had loaded fries while waiting for dinner to take home for later. The portions are generous, and the prices very reasonable. There was a continuous line ordering and waiting for food, mainly take-out, the whole time we were there. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the greens were over/salted for me and the cornbread was sweet (not my taste but many want and expect that). I am definitely going back to try other menu items! I love to patronize local businesses!

I tried Cookies today and it was good. A bit disappointed I had to pay $3 extra for a piece of catfish. The mashed potatoes and gravy was subpar. I purchased two bags of Hot Cheetos $1 each) in which they were stale which I didn’t notice till I consumed half the bag. Tried to call to let them know but nobody answered. They expired August 24th, 2021 today is 03/23/2022. My food took 40 minutes. They staff was friendly, but there was this overwhelming smell in the lobby. I much rather have 2 sides and 2 pieces of catfish than 3 sides and 1 piece of fish. Also for $28 it didn’t come with a drink or cornbread.
