River Cafe - Kurow

Fantastic service, friendly staff, and delicious food! They offer a wide range of options, from sit-down meals both indoors and outdoors to takeaway burgers, fish and chips, ice creams, and milkshakes. They also serve Jimmy's pies and sandwiches. Conveniently located right next to the A2O cycle trail, it's the perfect spot to grab lunch or afternoon tea before continuing your journey.

There's something truly special about this café. The friendly staff, a fantastic selection of food, and coffee that's absolutely amazing create a wonderful atmosphere. The Māori gentleman and the lovely lady at the coffee machine went above and beyond to make sure my brother and I were well taken care of. Thank you for providing us with such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely remember this place and can't wait to visit again the next time we come through.

The BLT sandwich is the best I've ever had. It was incredibly fresh, and the tomato was firm and not mushy at all. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the thick shake could use a bit more ice cream. Protein cream thick shakes are truly enjoyable when they're thick. Cromwell still holds the top spot for that. The guy behind the counter on Labor Day did an excellent job, especially considering how busy it was while he was juggling ice creams and thick shakes.

Quite honestly got a little scared when entered through the 'deli ' doors. I don 't usually get coffee at the same place where you can get fish and chips, etc. However, the coffee place is to your right, nice, clean, delicious. Just a little more work on the latte art and maybe a spoon with your coffee :

Actually the best takeaway flat white I've had in a while, and the Cranberry pistachio slice is both memorable and addictive!
