Cheddars Scratch Kitchen - Lafayette

I used to love cheddars for their onion rings that were the best in Lafayette, I would go there for the rings alone and then they took it off of the menu which tells me they are NOT a scratch kitchen. I will go back when they put the onion rings back on the menu.

Busy place, decent service. We split a pot pie that came out fine., Was the best of the options along a busy stretch if you don't want fast food.

Second time eating there in 6 months at the insistence of elder relatives who like the chicken strip offering. As before, my husband and I were knock-off-our-chairs DISAPPOINTED, UNIMPRESSED, and actually DISGUSTED. Hubby ordered 6 oz sirloin steak, wanted a baked potato but at 6:30pm Friday night! they didn 't have enough!!!When his 6 oz sirloin arrived, it was no larger than a half dollar...SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!One of his sides was a COLD ice cream sized and textured scoop of seasonless obviously NOT from scratch mashed potato facsimile with a DOT of WHITE gravy on top. His second side, which he had to pay extra for, was a house salad, which was no better quality than any than can be purchased from a fast-food restaurant. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and mashed potato and steamed broccoli. I received an unseasoned, chicken fried either hamburger patty or a gristle patty, either way, it was inedible. I too was given a lump of cold mashed potato facsimile, and the pile of broccoli I was given was completely raw and I 'm not even sure the florets had been washed, Just awful all around. We bundled up the expensive- learned our lesson-never going back- no matter what the relatives want- plates of ****, and set the stuff out for the feral cats and raccoons.

Such a nice Restaurant with average food that came out cold. Ceasar salad was soaked in dressing. Chicken and Shrimp dish seemed like reheated warm food. The pineapple Pico sounded amazing, but was like jarred salsa with canned pineapple. They need help.

We visited here on a Saturday night right during the busy time. We were told it was a half hour wait, but were surprised 15 minutes later when we were notified our table was ready. Service was quick and friendly. We all enjoyed our food: Shrimp alfredo had great flavor , steak was tender, and the tilapi and shrimp pasta was tasty. There was plenty of food served and we noticed many going home with leftovers. We would eat here again if we were in the area.
