The bartenders upstairs were terrible (poured weak drinks, weren’t attentive) and they don’t believe in A.C. My ex could have been behind the bar and she would have served me faster. Use to be a great place to go to. I was really disappointed in my last visit there. I’ve never made a review before in my life, that’s how bad of a time I had.
The atmosphere, live band, drinks, and servers were all enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. I went for brunch to enjoy the music, but the brunch menu was quite limited. Last time, I ordered the queso dip, and it was disappointing—it took a long time to arrive and didn’t taste good at all. This time, I wanted to try the beignets, only to find out they aren’t actually beignets. Instead, we opted for the chicken cracklins, but they were underseasoned. They came out hot in a paper bag but ended up being very dry. I’ll definitely try something different next time. I had the Sterling with cranberry juice added, which was tasty, but the glass wasn’t filled. When I requested a full cup for my second drink, that’s what I received, which shouldn’t have been necessary. Our server was fantastic and took great care of us, even telling us about the Friday night specials; I’ll be back to check those out. We also enjoyed the performance by Brandon Ledet, who sounded amazing and put on a great show!
Fantastic atmosphere! This is a really awesome spot in downtown Lake Charles! The owner is super friendly and an excellent host. There's a great selection of vintage music memorabilia, including vinyl records, 8-tracks, and other fun items to enjoy. Plus, they have guitars and various tools for musicians.
It seems that this establishment is willing to take money from Black patrons but is unwilling to stand up for them. Allowing a band to use racial slurs and derogatory language on stage without stopping the performance or offering an apology clearly reflects their disregard for the Black community that has supported them since before the hurricane. I'm appalled and will not be returning.
I attended this venue to watch a band perform. I posted a video calling out the all white band performing here for saying the n word and f slur and this venue blocked me from their page. (I didn’t even tag them, someone tagged them in the comments)I had every intention of still attending this venue to see my fave non racist bands but apparently the venue felt I shouldn’t be back. Their silence on this matter and them blocking me speaks volumes. Their PR person (or lack of one) gets a -3/10
