York Street Cafe - Newport

The mussels were perfect! The salmon was good as well. The ceases salad was complete with real anchovies however they charge extra for them . The risotto dish was tasty but surprisingly super small for the price. I would not order that twice. The service is great and the atmosphere is dark and historic. A good date night restaurant.

If you get the chance to make the stop, do it. It is an odd place, with a pretty awesome staff and the food was great! Make sure to go a few minutes early to go to the bar up stairs! The windows are amazing! This is a definite head back to spot!

My husband and I stopped into St. York Street per a recommendation from a nearby business owner. THIS PLACE IS OUTSTANDING! The interior is just as unique as the building's history and the menu offers selections that are refreshingly rare to see at most restaurants nowadays. You can tell that the ingredients are high-quality and the combinations are well thought out. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The music and ambiance wrap you in a blanket of nostalgic optimism. This would be an excellent place for a weekly date night for those who live nearby!

We had a reservation. We got seated rt away. The menu was nohjing that was posted online. I asked and the waiter said its seasonal and changes too often. There was nothing i was interested in getting. Im not into anything spicy. We had no time to go elsewhere bc of theater tickets. I ordered the fish special. My bf had the jerk chicken. We waited longer than 45 min. The manager came out and apologized the food hadnt been up to quality so they made it again. No bread delivered nothing in the meantime. My fish came out a dried husk on some cold veggies. They must have just switched out the fish. My bf was just ok. For just the 2 , unsatisfactory entrees and water our bill was about 70 bucks or so. Closer to 80. For what you pay the food is certainly NOT worth it. My friend went the next day with same rests for their food. Do NOT WASTE your money. Go somewhere where they care about quality food.

Billie and ALL of his staff are amazing! They went above and beyond in making sure we had a wonderful experience for our party of 16!!!!!!the food was great and the “ after party “ in the upstairs bar was great!!! Thank you for making my bday celebration a memorable one!!!
