Maine Street - Ogunquit

As newcomers to New England who love to dance, we recently discovered Maine Street while searching for dance spots online. We had an amazing time there and are definitely planning to return! Initially, I didn't think I would enjoy dancing to a DJ, but it turned out to be a nonstop dance party filled with friendly people. We don't drink alcohol, but we were even given $20 and someone bought us cranberry juice just for being there and adding to the fun atmosphere. Throughout the night, we were photographed and filmed repeatedly. We also enjoyed dancing in Portland near Bubba’s and at the Lobster Cafe on the pier. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Overall, I've always enjoyed this venue. The music is consistently good, and I love having access to two dance floors—it's truly a great club! However, during this past New Year's Eve, a group of us attended the New Year's Bash, and we invited a straight couple who are dear friends of ours, just as they have joined us in the past. At 11:30 PM, our friend was asked to leave. She looked fantastic, was having a wonderful time dancing, and wasn’t intoxicated at all! After she went to the restroom, a female security guard approached her and told her to leave without providing a clear reason or explanation. To make matters worse, they refused to let her retrieve her coat from coat check! How can you treat someone this way when they haven’t done anything wrong? Thankfully, her husband managed to get the coat for her, but their night was ruined—they left just a minute before midnight! Mainestreet, if you’re going to ask people to leave, at least give them a valid reason and, for goodness' sake, allow them to collect their belongings!

The atmosphere during New Year's was fantastic, but the music was disappointing. The DJ played tracks from 1998 to 2000 and there was no reggae. Additionally, the DJ was really rude. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Let me tell you- this is the place to be. We had so much fun singing karaoke with friends. Chartreuse, our MC was so funny and a great singer. Happy new year! I would recommend the pink ****. The drinks aren't very strong, though.

What a fun bar ! We got to enjoy the Dueling Divas show and for $20, I can't remember the last time I was so entertained! The bartender was great , made me a solid Jack Daniels and Ginger ale , and my friends ordered a hard cider that came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The room where we saw the show was cozy yet comfortable. We got a great view of the stage and could hear the performers quite well . I felt comfortable , had many laughs and it was the perfect spot to kick off our vacation!
