Pizza Shack - Paihia

We had a fantastic time dining at the Pizza Shack. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and it offered great value for the price.

This is one of my favorite dining spots in Paihia. The food was delicious—some of the best I've tasted in New Zealand so far—and it arrived just 5-10 minutes after I ordered. Plus, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming.

I had a truly awful experience at this restaurant. My order took an hour to arrive when the staff told me it would be ready in just fifteen minutes. To make matters worse, they brought out the completely wrong pizza! The others in my group described their pizzas as mediocre, and I have to say I completely agree. It’s definitely not worth the hype—I'd recommend avoiding this place altogether!

So slow. This place is just so slow. They are in an awesome location right across from the beach, in the middle of the action, but could have SUCH better and faster service! We waited over 15 minutes for 4 beers to be poured! Good thing we weren't hungry or we might've starved to death. Seems like there were plenty of customers, so maybe the food was known to be good, but I was too hungry to wait and find out. GET MORE STAFF, FOLKS! There was no food coming out of the kitchen, and there were two cooks back there. The girl behind the front counter was greeting customers, taking payments, making coffee, pouring beer, writing down orders, bussing tables, and answering the phone. Seems a little unbalanced. I wanted to jump in and give her a hand , poor thing! I hope I can give them another chance someday...

We walked by and saw some delicious looking breakfast to be had here and decided to stop in even though the name of the place didn't seem to indicate breakfast. We were never greeted or acknowledged in any way even after making eye contact with an employee. Menus were available on the table and we were ready to go, but weren't informed that that ordering was to be done at the counter. Payment up front as well. Service was terrible. Staff didn't know how to make mocha even though it's on the menu. Orders were mixed up, and nobody came to clear dishes or check on us mid meal. Food was yummy, I had the Shack Stack which was a nice portion for breakfast, though it could have benefitted from a side dish. Muesli was good also, but barely any yogurt was provided and in a tiny dish that the spoon couldn't fit into. Not well though out. An OK place for a quick bite, hopefully service is limited to a particular person.
