As always Amici's never lets you down with the quality of its menu & authentic Italian feel. It's not necessarily a traditional Italian Restaurant with overhanging gardens & trestles etc., however the food is what keeps us coming back.when we visit we see many locals & repeat patrons.Ironically the Chef & assistants are of Indian heritage, but boy can they cook up some beautiful food.Marco - is the matre di & as always does a magnificent jobs welcoming all to this fine establishment.Don't expect harbor views or music & dancing girls, but expect great food, backed by a wonderful wine menu & delicious deserts. We will always go back, for family, for casual & certainly for any intimate & special occasions.
We found this through the Entertainment Book and what a surprise. The food is traditional, fresh and brilliant. The service was exceptional - our waiter having been with the chef for many years. Best linguine boscaiola I have ever eaten - including oseas in Rome. This will be our go to Italian from this point on. Could not recommend this restaurant more. If I could give it a 6 out of 5 i would.
My husband and I and another couple headed to Amici on Friday night and enjoyed the experience but feel it could be improved upon.Luckily we had booked as the restaurant was very busy, maybe that is why the service was slow, we waited an hour for our meal. The menu was extensive with a variety of specials to choose from as well. Our entree's were delicious these included crab pasta, white bait fritters and fresh figs with blue cheese. The quality of our mains varied, I had the crispy duck which was very dry as was the veal with prawns in green pepper sauce. The barramundi was moist and full of flavour.Corkage is $4 per person which I found a little expensive as we poured our own wine through out the meal.Amici is not a cheap restaurant so I feel there is some improvements to be made.Overall a enjoyable night out with friends.
My wife and I popped in for lunch and we had the restaurant to ourselves. We were greeted by a delightful Italian gentleman who knew what great service is. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name. There were so many specials of the day that I could have chosen but I could only select the one: the barramundi fillet. And it was gorgeous. Generous serving and beautifully cooked with a crispy skin accompanied with veggies and potatoes. My wife chose linguini boscaiola which she described as the best she's ever had. Fi has tried a few including a number in Italy. It too was a generous serving which she couldn't finish. We had started with a basic salad (fabulous dressing) and good garlic bread. A glass of wine each from a good selection of local and Italian wines helped us savour our meal.I had to try the Tiramisu and it was good but I've had better. There are a number of great choices on the dessert menu so I'll make my way through them in future visits.Excellent and we'll be back for sure and soon.
