King's Tavern - Saratoga Springs

We were looking for a place to get a quick bite and a drink. We saw Kings Tavern that the parking lot was full, so we went on to Saratoga Springs to find another place, but couldn't find a parking place somewhere near a restaurant, so we went back to Kings and found a place. We went about 330 in the afternoon and the bartender said he just gave the last call and the kitchen was closed. He was just a joke. I had made the house chicken tortilla soup that was fantastic. My wife had the 2 hot dogs with fries, some of the best pommes ever. The bar was a local bar, it seemed like everyone knew each other. I was a little on the loud side mainly 2 tables one with 3 guys and one with 5 women. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

I had lunch here for the past two weeks and the new chef and new menu is a delicious modern take on some classics. Everything is fresh and made to order with a plentiful serving. Check out Wednesday yes Wednesday) Taco Specials .

We went with another couple while in town for some racing. We basically ordered a bunch of different appetizers and beer. All were really good . The waitress/bartender was really helpful and friendly. It's a loud barroom atmosphere so be advised if that's not your bag. We will return when in town again.

Best egg cheese and bacon sandwich. great place to go for a **** or mimosa before entering the race track.

Mug 54 Big Moe says Kings Tavern is the place to be this racing season and throughout the year. A+ in service, customers and food.
