Arizona Inn Audubon Lounge - Tucson

Everything was wonderful and to our joy, except when I made the reservation and when I first spoke to the server, I said that we celebrate a birthday for one of our guests from France and will be 80 years old this day. nothing was done with a candle or whatever something special. very disappointed that our special celebration was apparently not given any attention. we had not had this experience with past dinners. what happened?

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful lunch with our friends.

We sat at our table for 20 minutes and no waiter/waitress came to the table. My husband finally got up from the table and went to the bar and placed an order for our drinks. We tried to flag down the hostess to ask for some help but she was busy the entire evening reading on her computer. Our drinks were delivered from the bar and we begged for a server. A waitress did appear and she did a very good job taking care of us for the remainder of the evening. But the first half hour was just so bad that it kind of ruined our experience. This was a Monday evening and the restaurant was not even half full. Perhaps they need to hire more servers or at least a hostess that could help out the servers. The food was good, certainly nothing exceptional. It is a lovely restaurant though.

Arizona Inn totally knocked it out of the park. The dining room is gorgeous and the servers could not have been more helpful. We had chips guac, wedge salads, strip steaks, and chickpea cakes. Everything was wonderful. Our only complaint was that the dressing on the salads was a bit too spicy hot. The menu is diverse with everything from price fixed combinations to burgers and tacos. This place is perfect for celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, or just a romantic date. We will be back soon.

Great, historic ambiance. Food is good but not exceptional. Booked as a 40th Anniversary dinner not a mention of any occasion?
