Katie's Frozen Custard - Waco

A local ice compound. The ice is good, the service is fast, and the seating set is comfortable (although only outdoor). Compared to other ice places in the city, it is with Andy's and a little cheaper. Compared to all ice places writ-large it is ok. It's decent when you make ice cream while traveling, but not writing home.

We had the brownie sunshade and a turtle banana split and they were amazing. If 5 stars were, except it was very expensive for what we have, so it is definitely any now and then type of treatment. Will come back when you go through Waco, although:

Visited this establishment on Friday Aug. 13th around 10pm. Ordered one Large, Cookies Cream vortex with brownie Hot fudge. Upon getting home I noticed there were no brownies at all and the Oreos where all completely blended (normally there are some chunks). I called back and spoke with an employee named 'Evelyn ' who was reluctant to give me her name, even after giving her my name and number. She said she 'd have a supervisor to return my call but no one ever did. I decided to call back on Aug. 14th and spoke with 'Kevin ' who stated he was the manager. After expressing my concern, he then told me that he could only give me a credit for a small instead. Huh??? The young kids that were working on the night of my order weren 't busy at all, so i don 't understand how they could mess up one simple order of ice cream. Seems like management and staff both could use some retraining on customer satisfaction. I normally visit this establishment frequently but doubt if I 'll be back anytime soon.

Best frozen custard ever! Plenty of extras and add-ons to customize your treats, but just plain vanilla is even good all by itself. Hot dogs and frito pie available as well as take home containers.
