Sakura - Riverhead

Absolutely incredible!!! The hibachi experience was exceptional! Our chef, Michael, was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious!!! Food rating: 5/5.

The hibachi chef was skilled, but the overall service was disappointing. We were informed that we would have to pay an additional $5 if we wanted to share food from our plates with our toddlers. Alternatively, we could choose to purchase fries for our kids for $5 instead, and that would avoid the extra charge. Since when do parents have to pay extra just to share a little food with their children? It’s not like it’s a buffet! I won't be returning. I recommend finding a different restaurant.

The food was average, but the service left much to be desired. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet the staff seemed more interested in watching me and my friend eat than in serving us. They only came over to check on us when they seemed eager for us to leave their vacant establishment. One waitress approached my friend after handing him a to-go box and asked, "Is everything okay?" before trying to clear his plate, despite the fact that we still had a full bottle of sake to enjoy at our own pace. We requested a moment to finish our meal. Later, when my friend stepped out to use the restroom, she brought the check over, picked it up before he could even sign it, and returned it to me, saying, "Excuse me, gratuity is not included." We hadn't even had time to sign the check, let alone consider a tip. As we were still drinking, she took it upon herself to check the tip we left right after we signed. It felt very uncomfortable. To top it off, the salmon tartare was quite unappetizing.

Me and my husband love this place they have amazing rolls our favorite is the fantastic roll and sweet potato roll and their Kani salad is very good too would definitely recommendFood: 5/5
